Mint Chicken Fry Recipe

Chicken is most of the NV eaters favorite meat! But mint? What is it doing here in this recipe? Some might think that it's not that a good idea mixing leafy mint with chicken but the truth is, it is! Chicken is a protein-rich and hence it takes a bit more time to digest than the other simple food items. Mint leaf is a natural digestion stimulator which can improve digestion and also helps in oral care by preventing bacteria in mouth. What else? Mint smells veggie-veggie only when ground raw or cooked with other vegetables. Once you fry and paste it to make the chicken masala, all you get is a mouth watering rich aroma. Today, let us check a delicious mint chicken fry recipe which is again a easy-to-do recipe for you all.





Things you will need:
  • 1/2 kg chicken, pieced
  • 1 bunch fresh mint leaves
  • A piece of ginger
  • 12 garlic pods
  • 4 green chillies [You can add less or more as per your taste requirements]
  • 1 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • A teaspoon of lemon juice
  • Required salt

Ginger, Chillies and Garlic

Preparation:
  1. Add turmeric powder to the chicken pieces and let it soak for 5-10 minutes. After that, wash and drain the chicken with fresh water. Keep aside.
  2. Pour little oil in a pan and allow it to heat. Add the ginger, garlic, chillies and mint leaves one by one to the pan and saute the ingredients in low flame for 2 minutes. Switch off the stove, allow it to cool down for 2 minutes and grind it together until paste.
  3. Add this prepared mint masala paste to the chicken; add the pepper, garam masala and required salt too. Mix and marinate the chicken in this masala for one hour. Let the spices and chicken blend together.
  4. Heat 2 tablespoons or required oil in a hollow non-stick pan. After it gets heated, add the well marinated chicken pieces and close the pan with lid. Simmer the stove and allow the chicken to cook for 10 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes, open the lid and fry the chicken in open pan for 5-10 minutes. Switch off the stove and garnish the chicken with sliced tomato, onion and coriander leaves. Your mint chicken fry is ready to serve now!

Serve hot with: Rice, dosa, chapathi or naan



Note: If you need it as a gravy, you can add little water and switch off the stove soon [while frying]. For dry chicken lovers, frying for more minutes in simmer stove is the best option.If you need crispier mint chicken, deep fry the pieces in oil but remember, this may include the fat content int this recipe. Veggies, don't worry! Prepare this recipe with cauli flower, potato, meal maker and enjoy!
